A BIT ABOUT US
GUIDES WITH A COMBINED 30 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE TOURISM INDUSTRY
ARNE TER MORS
I was born and raised in The Netherlands and around 1994 I began to get interested in tourism while travelling in Canada, Alaska, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. My first job was as a tour leader in the winter in Finnish Lapland, showing guests the beauty Finland, Northern Norway/Spitsbergen, and Swedish Lapland.
A founder of one of the fastest growing activity company's in Norway, Tromsø Safari AS, I was also a tour leader for hundreds of guests in Northern Scandinavia and Finland, I experienced: getting stuck in heavy snow storms, meeting Polar Bears on Spitsbergen, checking and following with the local Sami in Norway huge groups of reindeer, making many (longer) trips with huskies, following the Humpback Whales and Killer Whales from Northern Norway, and so much more. The long winters with the Polar Nights and Northern Lights were magical.
met my wife Ekaterina (Katya) on a trip in Svalbard (Spitsbergen) on a boat trip to Barentsburg. She was working for 9 months per year on Svalbard and spent the autumn and part of the winter in Bulgaria. For me Bulgaria was totally unknown and when she asked me to come over to Bulgaria in 2017, I did so doubting what to expect!
I was totally overwhelmed with the fantastic nature, the cultural and historical sites, the food and wine, and of course, not to forget the people living in this great country.
I am a Russian lady born and raised in the North-West of Russia. I discovered Bulgaria in 2009 when I was looking here for a cozy apartment as my summer vacations spot.
They say, Russians and Bulgarians have much in common and I felt myself immediately at home while opening this new page in my life. Bulgarians are open and friendly, ready to help whenever an issue pops up.
Meanwhile I was working on Svalbard – a genuine Arctic fairy tale where the North Pole is just round the corner (some 1000 away), in the tourism branch as a guide showing guests the beauty of this Eldorado of nature-based experiences; wild untouched nature, glaciers, soaring mountains, and rare wildlife including polar bears … a prime location for Aurora, polar nights and the midnight sun, each lasting 4 months, just to name a few!
That was challenging and altogether exciting and an unforgettable 6-year period of my life that came to the end in order to start a new one in a year-round paradise of unique, fascinating and never-ending surprise, Bulgaria.
I consider this place my second home and look forward to sharing my love of this beautiful country with you.
